School-Based Enterprises (SBEs) are student-run businesses that operate within a school, giving students hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and management. Through these enterprises, students apply classroom concepts to real-world operations by managing everything from product selection and pricing to customer service and accounting. At The Adelson School, we are proud to offer three DECA style SBEs. Each SBE allows students to develop critical business and leadership skills while supporting Adelson DECA’s mission to prepare emerging leaders and entrepreneurs.
The Lion's Den is a Student Based Enterprise powered by Adelson DECA, where creativity, entrepreneurship, and school spirit come together. Our team of young business leaders designs and produces high-quality custom apparel for school events, clubs, and the Adelson community, all from right inside the Lion’s Den. Each purchase supports student learning in marketing, finance, and management, while helping our Adelson Lions wear their pride with style.
Shabbucks is Adelson DECA’s student-run coffee stand, proudly operating Friday mornings in celebration of Shabbat. Managed entirely by our marketing and business students, Shabbucks gives students hands-on experience in customer service, operations management, and entrepreneurship. From crafting brews to balancing budgets, students learn the fundamentals of running a small business while contributing to a warm, community-focused tradition on campus. All proceeds directly support Adelson DECA’s travel, competition, and leadership development opportunities.
Shabbites is Adelson DECA’s student-run vending enterprise, providing convenient, fully kosher snacks and drinks, including a variety of healthy options, to students and staff throughout the day. Operated entirely by marketing and business students, this School-Based Enterprise teaches real-world skills in inventory management, pricing strategy, customer service, and financial literacy. Every purchase supports Adelson DECA’s mission to prepare emerging leaders and fund student participation in competitive conferences and leadership events.
